trying to get anything done by the books and legally. the police is corrupt, the mayor is corrupt, the maggia is there, kingpin is also there, why even fucking bother? new york is the world’s most corrupt city to her, and she is more than fine with just not bothering with the proper, legal way to do things.

this is sth she got from her father who used to be an active politician, but she just doesn’t believe in talking to republicans. it’s just a waste of time to her. they’re not gonna get it anyway, so why even bother? these people fundamentally lack basic empathy.
a funfact is that in my canon, hamilton hill (whom oz famously kills on live tv) is a republican. so is lex luthor. charlie’s old man, on the other hand, was a fringe democrat who was constantly inches away from getting kicked out for being too radical. “fucking clocked a dude in the face on live tv” radical.
20. What do they like that nobody else does?
besides oz? she sincerely likes her steaks well-done. this is something she got from her mother; eleanor used to be a prominent surgeon, and as such tended to avoid rare steaks and sashimi due to raw meat reminding her of her work too much. and as such, charlie grew up only eating well done meats, and never acquired the taste for anything rare.
(yeah, it is a theme of hers that she is her parents’s daughter and struggles to see herself as her own person, with her own innate worth.)
